DERWEN COLLEGE

Derwen Charity

About us

Derwen Charity supports Derwen College to deliver exceptional learning programmes for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including: learning and physical disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), behaviours of concern, and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Residential and day students attend our main campus in Gobowen, near Oswestry, Shropshire. We have three other satellite sites across the county in Walford, Telford, and Ludlow, each delivering programmes to day students from the local area.

Derwen Charity also supports adults with learning difficulties, and care and support needs who are long term residents at Derwen. We support their journey to independance, help them to find meaninging work and activities, and provide the care and support to enable them to achieve their aspirations.

Derwen College is ‘A Place of Possibility’.

We work with our young people and adults to support them to achieve what they want and challenge them to do more. Staff work hard to provide the support, care and confidence our learners need to boost their skills and push their boundaries. As a community we care for one another all our learners regularly exceed what is thought possible.
